Film Synopsis:
When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot. Fame and fortune are his for the taking. That is until he meets three witches: Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.  Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.  Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity and even a bit of wizardry, Oscar transforms himself not only into a great wizard but into a better man as well.

Our Review:

Oz The Great and Powerful is an excellent movie. We were excited to get this on Blu-ray 3D. I've watched a lot of 3D movies and Oz is for sure one of the best! The 3D effects were amazing!! James Franco does a great job playing Oz. He starts off as just a magician/con-artist and ends up defeating the wicked witches of Oz. I thought it was funny when he first gets to the land of Oz. He is in a lake and there are a bunch of little fairies with sharp teeth that start attacking him. Then one of them fly right out of the screen at you. That was really cool! It's pretty incredible how he creates the illusion of the Wizard of Oz. There was a big cloud of smoke with his face in it and there were fireworks shooting through his mouth at the witches. That was a pretty intense battle. The fight at the end with Glenda the good witch and Evanora the wicked witch of the east is really awesome too. This is a good, clean, fun movie the whole family will enjoy!
