Mrs. Meyers Clean Home:No-Nonsense Advice that Will Inspire You to CLEAN like the DICKENS
When Thelma Meyer tells it to you, she tells it straight: Clean the kitchen daily! Don't waste anything (not even the water leftover from those potatoes you just boiled)! Always work hard! This philosophy meant that when Thelma's daughter Monica founded Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products (named after her mom), the products were designed to work hard for you. Now for the first time, Thelma's sage advice is being made available in this revolutionary cleaning guide chock full of practical tips and secrets based on the premise that life is hectic and messy -- and so keeping your house clean and nice is the only sensible thing to do. With shortcuts and tips for cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room, MRS MEYER'S CLEAN HOME contains unexpected advice such as:
--Never use vinegar and water on wood floors. One part dish soap and four parts water is the only way to truly get them clean. And remember to buff with a terrycloth towel. --Always clean out the fridge before grocery shopping. Serve the kids "Musko" ("must go") for dinner, using the items that were fast approaching expiration. --Wash windows on a cloudy day to avoid the nasty streaking that happens when the sun's out and glass dry too fast.

Jantsen's Gift by Pam CopeNine years ago, Pam Cope owned a cozy hair salon in the tiny town of Neosho, Missouri, and her life revolved around her son's baseball games, her daughter's dance lessons, and family trips to places like Disney World. She had never been out of the country, nor had she any desire to travel far from home.
Then, on June 16th, 1999, her life changed forever with the death of her 15-year-old son from an undiagnosed heart ailment.
Needing to get as far away as possible from everything that reminded her of her loss, she accepted a friend's invitation to travel to Vietnam, and, from the moment she stepped off the plane, everything she had been feeling since her son's death began to shift. By the time she returned home, she had a new mission: to use her pain to change the world, one small step at a time, one child at a time. Today, she is the mother of two children adopted from Vietnam. More than that, she and her husband have created a foundation called "Touch A Life," dedicated to helping desperate children in countries as far-flung as Vietnam, Cambodia and Ghana.
Pam Cope's story is on one level a moving, personal account of loss and recovery, but on a deeper level, it offers inspiration to anyone who has ever suffered great personal tragedy or those of us who dream about making a difference in the world.
Thanks to Hachette Book Company I get to give away five of this book! (Only residents of the US or Canada are eligible. No PO boxes)
by Michele Bell
So I moved to New York and am finally living that dream . . . well, almost. I am at one of the top fashion companies, and my designs are definitely modest — but let's face it, when it comes to outerwear, would you want to buy a skimpy trench coat? Didn't think so.
Even though I don't have my dream job, my family is a mess, and my love life stinks, I have a feeling things are going to change. I mean, they have to soon, or I'll be forced to marry Jace. I did promise to become his wife only if I turned thirty and was still single, but I honestly didn't think it was possible. Now twenty-nine, I'm cutting it way too close. Right now I'm flying back to Utah for our Butterfly Girls reunion. And since it is the Mormon Mecca, I might find myself a modest proposal. Utah engagements can take mere weeks. Never mind, I'm not that desperate. Really.
But maybe the girls can help. We've been best friends since high school. We Butterfly Girls are not the typical Pink Ladies, although we've definitely had our share of drama. We'll laugh and cry over memories, from pageant glory to tragic endings, but the ones stored inside our butterfly box will surprise you most. We only open it when we're all together, and our lives never seem the same after.
Thanks to Michele Bell I get to give away one copy of this book!

David Bowman Print Giveaway...

Remember my talented Artist friend David Bowman? He is awesome and has a new print out! It is called "Joy" and it's beautiful! Here is what he says about this print...
"Joy"
Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full. 3 Nephi 17:20
"This is one of my favorite moments in the Book of Mormon. After stating this, Jesus simply spends some time blessing and interacting with the children, while angels descend out of heaven. In this piece, I wanted to depict our Savior in that moment of "full joy". I see Him smiling and laughing spontaneously, filled with so much love for those young people, to the point of weeping for joy (as it mentions in the record He did). If its human nature to manifest feelings of joy and love in that way... then I have to believe that would especially be the case for the One who is the embodiment of every good and righteous instinct of human nature."
~Dave Bowman~

With so many request for her out-of-print CD Journey Toward Zion, Jenny Phillips decided to revisit the theme and messages of the handcart pioneers in a new CD called Remember the Journey. Both the CD and the program that goes along with it focus on the spiritual symbolism of the pioneers' journey and how those messages reach deep into our own personal journeys. Jenny says "I wanted this project to be a powerful and deeply spiritual reminder of the journey we are on in this mortal life. We prepared for ages for this mortal journey. But now that we are here, it is easy to become distracted and lose sight of where we are traveling to. I have taken a great spiritual journey the last few years of my life that has helped me keep my eyes more riveted on the Celestial Kingdom. I hope this CD can help others along their own spiritual journey and help their steps be pointed in a more direct course to joy and peace."

The Continuous Atonement Book Giveaway...
Brad Wilcox Continuous Atonement:Christ doesn’t just make up the difference. He makes all the difference.
During times of discouragement, we must remember that the purpose of the Atonement of Jesus Christ is not just to cleanse and console, but also to transform — and that takes time. Christ is not waiting at the finish line once we have done "all we can do." He is with us every step of the way, and His Atonement will be available as long as the perfecting process takes — continually. This book offers valuable insights about God, Christ, and our relationship with them.
Each chapter contains clear examples that will uplift and motivate. Profound doctrine is made accessible and difficult concepts are presented in such simple ways that over and over the reader will say, "I've never thought of it like that before." That kind of change of belief will help bring about a change of behavior.
Peace is found not by giving up or erasing the need to change, but by turning to the One who makes change possible and realizing that we get lots of chances to start again. So, if at first you don't succeed either, don't find excuses. Find the Savior and the blessings of His continuous Atonement.
I own this book and I l♥ve it! Brad was so kind to contribute a copy of this beautiful book for me to give away on my blog. To enter please leave a comment on this post by Wed. April 22nd and I will post the winner on Thurs. April 23rd. Good luck everyone :)
