More about the PowerEdge™ 1000-Watt Blender with BPA-Free Jar...

Cuisinart Brings Uncompromising Safety and Unparalleled Power to the Kitchen

As part of its ongoing dedication to the health and safety of its consumers, Cuisinart is introducing the PowerEdge™ 1000-Watt Blender with BPA-Free Jar (model no. CBT-1000). Bisphenol A, or BPA, has long been thought to pose health risks to humans, and recent studies are confirming that these suspicions are not only valid, but may actually be more significant than previously thought. BPA can predispose humans, especially infants and young children, to certain types of cancer, reproductive complications and heart disease, as well as to a host of other physiological problems and illnesses.

Prior to the release of this unit, all Cuisinart blenders were inherently BPA-free as their jars were made of glass. Because the new blender’s jar is an unprecedented 64 ounces, manufacturing it in glass could cause consumer’s difficulty when lifting and pouring. Thus, the PowerEdge™ 1000 is made with Tritan™ from Eastman, a new generation copolyester that is a compelling alternative to traditional polymers (including polycarbonate, a polymer often used in everyday plastics that contains BPA). By utilizing this new technology from Eastman, Cuisinart is providing home cooks with a safe and healthy blender that still outperforms the competition and provides the convenience of a lightweight, shatter-proof jar. What’s more, the unit is the company’s largest capacity and most powerful blender to date, and is equipped with innovative features like its Power6 Turbo-Edge™ blade design, Auto Pre-Set Programming (APP) and backlit Count-Up™ timer.

What to Look for When Purchasing a Blender:

Performance:

Cuisinart’s PowerEdge™ 1000 blender has a variety of features that give home cooks the power and versatility to safely create a wide range of foods and beverages in the comfort of their own kitchen. This ultra powerful blender has APP settings for Smoothie, Ice Crush and Pulse – a pre-set program that synchronizes timed pauses with bursts of power during blending for optimum results, whether blending smoothies or crushing ice for frozen drinks. Additionally, the blender’s easy-to-read, 64-oz. lightweight jar is ideal for family use or large parties. The generously-sized jar, coupled with the blender’s programmability, power and precision control, provide increased functionality for making everything from Buckwheat Crêpes with Spinach and Goat Cheese to Chocolate Banana Crème Brûlée.

Design:

Another principal feature of the PowerEdge™ blender is the company’s Power6 TurboEdge™ blade design, which enhances vortex performance for consistent blending, regardless of food or beverage type. This superior vortex performance occurs as the unit’s blades, jar and motor work synergistically to overcome cavitation (an empty pocket that can form within a blender jar during the blending process). In addition, the blender’s professional-quality stainless steel blade with improved cutting surfaces finely minces even small portions of nuts or delicate herbs.

Cuisinart’s PowerEdge™ unit reflects a new blender design for the company, as it is part of the Elite Collection™ that features a die-cast metal housing and a rounded square base with backlit functions. The heavy-duty base provides extra stability on the countertop while the commercially-inspired styling adds a sophisticated look to any kitchen.

Convenience:

In addition to its professional-quality design and performance, Cuisinart’s newest blender offers several significant convenience features, including a backlit Count-Up™ Timer to allow for perfect timing with each use. The 4-minute Count-Up ™ Timer works with the unit’s pre-programmed controls to flawlessly blend anything from margaritas to pancake batter. Consumers also have the option of pausing the timer with the push of a button. For example, when blending on Low, the consumer can push the Low function button to stop the blending process and the timer will stop counting.

Other practical benefits include a measured pour lid that allows home cooks to measure and add ingredients without removing the lid itself; a cover with a leak-proof gasket to hold the lid snugly in place for safe and efficient operation; and a useful cord storage compartment. The blender also has an ergonomic, comfort grip handle, and the measured pour lid and blender jar are dishwasher safe. Additionally, the pre-programmed functions and blending speeds have backlit push-button controls for easy and accurate use.

  • 1000-watt 2-speed blender with rugged die-cast metal base
  • Preprogrammed Smoothie, Ice Crush, and Pulse functions
  • Simple control panel with backlit buttons; count-up timer; stand-by mode
  • 64-ounce co-polymer lidded jar with measuring marks included
  • Measures 8-2/5 by 10-2/5 by 14-3/5 inches

Warranty: Limited three-year
