Flicka Country Pride
First I checked in at the luxurious Manteo Resort...
The private lakeside beach and the beautiful views from the balcony of my room were amazing!
Here I am above with Wolf, the Unit Publicist for Flicka Country Pride. I was delighted to sit by her at dinner the first night on my trip. We had an excellent meal at Old Vines the restaurant at Quails' Gate!
Their menu was sourced from surrounding fields and pastures. This restaurant has beautiful lakeside and vineyard views. The hand rolled potato and herb gnocchi was divine and so flavorful. I loved the atmosphere and the dinner was awesome!
Next we headed off to the Flicka Country Pride set which had fancy horse stables and a championship riding arena.
I was excited to interview actor Clint Black, actress Lisa Hartman Black, actress Kacey Rohl, producer Connie Dolphin, and executive producer Janeen Damian.
Actress Kacey Rohl was so friendly and had a great personality! I asked her what she liked about being part of this movie. She said, "It's a great story and I wanted to work with the horses".
Producer Connie Dolphin told us the message of the movie is that a girl who is lost can find her way.
Executive producer Janeen Damian said this movie has lots of action in it and the story of Flicka is all about relationships.
Actress Lisa Hartman Black enjoys sharing notes with Clint and watching their daughter that will be in the movie shine. She said Flicka is a magical horse that helps heal a broken family. She told us, "The movie has such heart".
Actor and country music star Clint Black is going to be great in this movie! I asked him if he gets to use some of his own humor in this film and he said yes. He likes that the director Michael Damian let's him add some of his own lines. I liked when Clint said, "When you get into trouble there could be someone there to reach a hand or a hoof".
More about the movie:
It was very exciting to be there while they were actually filming! After seeing how passionate all involved with Flicka Country Pride are, I can't wait to see this! It's going to be a wonderful and touching movie!
This was a great trip hanging out with incredible people! Thanks again to all that made it possible! Watch for another Flicka Country Pride post coming closer to the release date.
*I did not receive any money for this post. I did receive the trip at no charge to tour the set and write about the movie.*
