Serving Others This Holiday Season...

This year my family and I plan to serve some needy families by surprising them with Christmas gifts left at their door secretly. In order to make this happen we need lots of help! If your family or anyone you know would like to help please let us know. You can use this picture to post about what we are doing on your blog. Please post the Serving Others This Holiday Season button I have on my side bar on your blog so people read all about it. Thank You so very much for all your help with this!

I know this will be a HUGE blessing to
some needy families this Holiday Season :)

Here are some quotes below that
touched us we wanted to share with you...

"May I share with you a formula that in my judgment will help you and help me to journey well through mortality... First, fill your mind with truth; second, fill your life with service; and third, fill your heart with love."
--Thomas S. Monson

"Service to others deepens and sweetens this life while we are preparing to live in a better world. It is by serving that we learn to serve. When we are engaged in the service of our fellowmen, not only do our deeds assist them, but we put our own problems in a fresher perspective. When we concern ourselves more with others, there is less time to be concerned with ourselves! In the midst of the miracle of serving, there is the promise of Jesus that by losing ourselves, we find ourselves!"
--Spencer W. Kimball

"Service changes people. It refines, purifies, gives a finer perspective, and brings out the best in each one of us. It gets us looking outward instead of inward. Righteous service is the expression of true charity, such as the Savior showed."
--Derek A. Cuthbert

"Through service to others, we develop a Christlike love and we experience joy. Service teaches patience and long-suffering as well as gentleness, goodness, and faith."
--Merrill J. Bateman

"Kindness, love, patience, understanding, and unity will increase as we serve, while intolerance, jealousy, envy, greed, and selfishness decrease or disappear. The more we give of ourselves, the more our capacity to serve, understand, and love will grow."
--Carlos H. Amado

"You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments that stand out are the moments when you have done things for others."
-- Henry Drummond

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."
-- Sir Winston Churchill
"Christmas means 'giving,' and the gift without the giver is bare. Give of yourselves; give of your substance; give of your heart and mind. "Christmas means 'compassion and love' and, most of all 'forgiveness' How poor indeed would be our lives without the influence of His teachings and His matchless example. "He whose birth we commemorate this season is more than the symbol of a holiday. He is the Son of God, the Redeemer of mankind, the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace."
--Gordon B. Hinckley

Thank You so very much to those of you who take the time to read this post! May the Lord bless you and your families this holiday season!

What a wonderful thing to do. A few years ago, our family decided to minimize our gift giving to each other and use the money to provide service and Christmas for others. It was a great experience.

Great quotes!
