8 Reasons why I love movies...

If you are bored and looking to entertain yourself, chances are, you reach out for your TV remote or books (hard copy or digital version). But the question still remains: which one is the people’s choice? Admittedly, books are a very important part of human storytelling. Still, there is something about movies that has increased their popularity over the years. Although both materials are special in their own way, you cannot ignore that people will choose movies over novels.

Here are some reasons why this is so.

  1. It doesn’t consume your time

Sure, books can allow your mind to travel to places, but the time involved in finishing one is long. The truth is, not everyone has enough time for this, especially if work gets in the way. For these reasons, people will choose to watch their favorite movies and TV shows; it doesn’t waste their time, and they can follow the story with ease.

  1. Movies are a friend of sustainability

Sure, many books have digital versions that people can read from their smart devices. But you don't have to be rocket scientists to understand that there are still many book fans out there who cannot stop hoarding physical copies. This may mean that several trees will be used. However, producing a film doesn’t require this process. Therefore, instead of collecting paper that will eventually destroy trees and litter the environment, consider streaming a movie online.

  1. The intensity of the movies is outstanding

A book can make you feel like a character in the story, but the appeal may end there. On the other hand, movies can be more intense due to the stunning visuals and ambient music and sounds. This helps them provide a more emotional experience, which is what entertainment is about. While you can also find intense books, you must be ready to visit your local library to browse many shelves.

  1. You have a healthy dose of special effects

With reading, you rely solely on your mind to create the picture, which can be stressful sometimes. On the other hand, movies have special effects that engage anyone who watches them while eliminating all the fluffy stuff. Therefore, consider watching movies to widen your imagination and attention.

  1. You can enjoy a shared experience with loved ones

Books are often a solo adventure that happens in your mind. Aside from this, your loved ones may not be keen on reading. This is where movies come in. You can react to hilarious moments or analyze the plot of the movie. Fortunately, leading video-on-demand streaming platforms like Netflix have made it incredibly easier for people to watch their favorite movies with their loved ones. Therefore, take advantage of this by learning how to watch Netflix together. The good thing is that you don’t always have to be in the same room with your loved ones to enjoy this feature. Like other streaming platforms, Netflix enables watching together with video calls and creating shared experiences among parties.

  1. It is easily accessible

This may be common knowledge, but movies are more accessible and inclusive than books. Films have the power to reach larger audiences thanks to their superior accessibility. The audio-visual features of movies allow people with different abilities, language barriers, and learning preferences to enjoy the stories to the maximum. On the other hand, physical books are prone to wear and tear, not to mention the extra space they consume in a home.

  1. Showcasing cinematic techniques

With films, cinematographers can display their artistic talents through framing, lighting, and cinematic techniques for all to admire and praise. As a result, they are able to enhance the storytelling process to impact viewers' experiences. Although authors can also showcase their artistic skills in books, film directors have the upper hand thanks to cutting-edge technology.

  1. Easy to understand

Finally, films are easy to understand because moving images say a thousand words. Books often come with too many details that may go on forever. You don't have to flip a page in a movie; sit back and watch the motion pictures evolve through time.
